Edouard Chimot
1890-1959
Edouard Chimot was born in 1890 in Lille, France.
Chimot was a painter and watercolorist. He also worked in pastel. Chimot’s subjects were always sensual women, often quite erotic including many Lesbian images.
He studied at l’École des Beaux-Arts de Roubaix and de Tourcoing and l’École Décoratifs in Nice.
Chimot was most successful as an illustrator. He illustrated many literary works including l’Enfer by H. Barbusse and Le Spleen de Paris by Baudelaire.
